Few words….

January 27, 2008

It has been quite a while I have not been blogging. Perhaps my past time is mostly occupied. Somehow or rather today I was called to open the blog and scribble something.

Hmm… I am very erratic by nature but having some autistic features at the same time. What a monotonus person!

Note of rejection?

December 10, 2007

 hakimfourmonths-023.jpg

After having come back from the furniture outlet this afternoon I have been feeling upset and dejected. Why? Because my note was rejected.

During my upbringing, I was always thought by my parents to have a goodwill gesture and other positive norms. I just do not understand as to why vandals appear to be as who they are. Who is accountable? Who is to be blamed? …..Genetic? …..mutation?……their parents? or…..upbringing?

Well…back to the furniture outlet. I went there this afternoon to buy an  ‘iron work’ delivery trolley for my mother in-law who came to our house since last friday. Since she had her eye on the same trolley that I bought few months ago, I thought of buying her one.

Upon payment I handed over the required RM notes and while waiting for the receipt, the cashier returned the RM5 note to me. She refused to accept it because of the defect that appeared on the note. I scrutinized it and noticed  the saw-like defect in an oblique manner at the right upper end of the money.

I was extremely furious. It was not even my fault in the first place…and yet I have to be a scapegoat. Why did I have to take the blame? Not only that, to add salt on the wound, the cashier asked me to throw away the note.

My only fault was to have not noticed such a pre-existing defect upon receiving the change from shopkeeper or cashier. Hmm…I think as a result of goodwill gesture attitude towards everyone( including shopkeeper and cashier ), I overlooked the problem. Perhaps, they might not be the vandals…. somebody else did.

I am pretty sure some of you out there have experienced the similar incident as that of mine. Though the problem may be regarded as a trivial matter by some people, I do feel it is a serious social disease.

I do aware that we cannot expect everyone in society to have a good heart and sound mind as most of us do when it comes to a large population. Likewise, if we were to buy 30 chicken eggs at a time, chances are we may get one or two rotten eggs out of it.

Sincerely, I feel that we do not do justice to have been refusing the defective notes from ‘the non-vandal’ someone only because the money happens to be possessed by him or her at that present time.

How are we going to overcome this issue? My suggestion perhaps we may need a body that collects the defective notes and disposes them for reprocessing using the same material. You  people out there may have a better idea.

To the vandals: money notes do not belong to you people but they are public/Malaysians’ belonging . If your hands or feet are overtly itchy to do the damage or destroy public belongings, kindly execute it to your paraphernalia beforehand and…..guess how do you feel.

Fifth month and circum day

December 6, 2007

 hakimfourmonths-031.jpg

Started yesterday, HAKIM is now in his fifth month of life. It is so amazing to see him growing before my eyes.

During maidenhood, I just offered a big smile to those women who had fun watching their kids growing. After being a mother, I realize how much it means. Something that I could never have imagined before. Indeed, the magnitude of joy is infinity.

At this very young age, HAKIM has tremendously developed a sense of friendliness towards our gesture. Through out his good days, he is all the way smiling and giggling. Only once in the blue moon when colic comes, he will be clinging, whinning and demanding us to be with him every single second. On the whole, I must say that HAKIM is really not much of tantrums and easy to be taken care of.

Today has marked another history in HAKIM’s life. He had successfully undergone a circumcision, the most feared event among boys.It was done by his daddy under local anaesthesia. Upon injection of anaesthetic agents, he cried a little. After the anaesthesia had taken effect he was fairly comfortable through out the procedure except for crying of anxiety. Back home, he was whinning for a while until he fell asleep.

After he had first passed urine following the procedure, I changed his diaper and I saw the result has come out nice and painstaking. Till the moment I write this post, he is sleeping comfortably. I supposed he has a bearable or no more pain.

I feel relief that we have carried out this obligation for him. The reason I put him for  circumcision early is to prevent or reduce the risk of infection-balanitis- that easily happens with uncircumcised penis.

To our HAKIM. Get well soon.

A Preventable human error

December 3, 2007

I felt sorry for what had happened to those three paratroopers yesterday. I would like to express my condolence to their grieving families.

It’s very hard to learn that their beloved family members died during the mock exercise for the opening ceremony LIMA exhibition tomorrow.

The erratic wind pattern was to be blamed. According to the responsible officer, the wind during the course when the rehearsel was undertaken said to be within the safety limit. However, it had gone awry when the wind blew stronger and took the paratroopers off the course.

As a good Muslim , we must take the incident as the fate from GOD, but if we looked back, it was essentially a kind of human error. I  do believe the prime factor is undertraining. In my opinion, it does not have necessarily to be  such a flamboyant style of an opening ceremony if the high risk of dangerous activity that amounting to death is being anticipated. It’s just enough to give a showmanship that within our capability and the safety limit.

Whatever it is, human being do not live without doing  mistakes. The most important thing is that we learn from the mistakes, take a lesson from what has happened and improve ourselve in the future.

Toll, Samy and election

November 30, 2007

Seemingly, the government’s say on toll in the last election was a sheer lie, I would have recalled. Sorry for me to say..it apparently turned out to be one of the ‘empty promises’ made just to buy the voters. And… unfortunately we were the ones.

Today, I read in the newspaper what has Samy Vellu said about the toll increment. For the time being, the order will take effect only for two highways starting this January but six more are awaiting the increase very soon enough, perhaps immediately after the next impending election.

But then again, the imposition would not be limited to the above mentioned only, trust me, it would involve every single highway in Malaysia. Well… If you do not believe me just wait until the next election is over.

Certainly the hike-up adds the burden to us,the users of whom most are in the low or middle economic class. Just in case one might have to recall , we have not been quite settling yet with the ceiling price hike of the daily essentials recently. These definitely made the recent 15% increased salary was nothing and rather regarded as a GIMMICK for the coming election .

Fair enough. If we were to put things into perspective, the government could have helped  us out of this burden by channelling the capital expenses from the unnecessary or minor sectors to the more critical ones. As far as money is concerned, the government should adopt a frugality and throw away the extravagant attitude. Same especially goes for the impending election! Be wise and do not waste our capital income unnecessarily for the campaigns, banners and things like that. After all, we are the taxpayers and of course we are contributing to the capital income.

For all  intents and purposes, the government should be more TRANSPARENT, HONEST, THRIFTY and the most important is to KEEP THE PROMISES right not just for the sake of election and fishing the voters.

I may be quite an outspoken  but I’d love to type this quote out : THE POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS ARE SHARING SIMILAR CHARACTERS AND THEY NEED TO BE CHANGED REGULARLY FOR THE SAME PURPOSES. I am pretty sure a lot of you out there would have agreed with me.

Fashion or obligation?

November 28, 2007

Last Sunday, I watched a program in TV9 that highlighted about TUDUNG as a fashion. Well.. that’s fine. As a Muslimah one must remember by heart that TUDUNG is not a fashion but it is an OBLIGATION. Perhaps, it could be made into fashion but not too overdone.

To my dismay, there was a statement made by a narrator of that program which I felt it was quite an insult to me as a Muslim. It sounded like this : nowadays, there are quite a number of celebrities changed their appearance by wearing TUDUNG as it now seen as a new fashion and no longer something that looked obsolete. What a shameful being a Muslim women for not knowing or rather ignoring a call to wear TUDUNG as what ALLAH asks us to do so! Not because it is a new fashion! Definitely what was said by her to a greater extent gave a wrong perception regarding the obligation.

ISLAM has its own good and explicable reasons as to why it makes wearing TUDUNG as a must. It sounds disgusting when one says that she is not yet ready to wear TUDUNG or she will wear it when she is willing to. As a Muslim who believes in RUKUN IMAN and RUKUN ISLAM we must show a good potrayal and be an exemplary to NONMUSLIM , not just on the par with them.

HINDRAF : A Major HINDRANCE to peace and prosperity?

November 26, 2007

The past few days were belonged to HINDRAF. They have successfully stolen the limelight of the nation for  rather unhealthy potrayal. Their very immatured tantrum to seek government’s attention is deservedly reprimanded.

How could they indulge into such a shameful temperament while we have an appropriate channel to go through? Could not they be more rational and prudent in handling their internal bickering? Why should they divulge their nitty-gritty to the public? What did they get from the illegal street riot?

Apparently, Malaysia which has long been famous worldwide for its peace and prosperity despite multiraciality, was marred by those unsightly activities. What they did recently has  certainly tarnished our country’s good name.

Should they continue their toddler’s tantrum, the advice would be THROW AWAY your Malaysian identity card and EMIGRATE… preferably to the countries like Iraq, Lubnan and Somalia; then only they would become  a grateful nation .

To the AUTHORITY, a prompt action should be undertaken to resolve the issue. FLEXIBILITY and TOLERANCE are very important if amicable settlement is to be reached. And a DOUBLE STANDARD attitude should be a big NO-NO to ensure a win-win situation. ALL THE BEST TO MALAYSIA!

Life or money

November 26, 2007

hakimabah-027.jpg

Last few days I heard a news in the tv regarding our second astronaut, Kapten Faiz who was assaulted by a thief in order to defend his friend from getting robbed. I would say that he was very fortunate to have only his left forearm minimally injured. In one way or another, he was being taken as a hero and a good samaritan. This is one of a lot more cases out there a story of heroic act ends up with nothing but injury or death in return.

As we have seen a lot of similar examples happened around, be it in or outside the country, we should be more prudent and treasure our lives as much as we could. Trying to be a hero to defeat the villain is very featuristic of any movies to intrigue the audience yet in reality it risks our life at stake.

Money is of course very important to us but it does not count for every single thing and certainly it is not a substitute of our very life. We must think of our beloved family and cherish  life as a very divinely paramount. Let the villain take your money but not your life!

special moments

November 26, 2007

hakimhuzaimi1-089.jpg

Having a baby in my life is the most magnificent moment has ever happened. 5th July 2007 has marked a remote memory in my history with the birth of my HAKIM. Upon looking at very fragile and helpless HAKIM, I sobbed in joy. My mind was suddenly  imbued with an overwhelming empathy. I just wondered how could people be so cruel and murder their very own seed?

After had been cleaned by the attending nurse, I asked her to bring HAKIM to me immediately. I cuddled him with all my heart and put him for breastfeeding. He sucked greedily as if he had not been drinking  for days in my womb. Silently, I promised to give the best care I could to my very son.

In the first few days of life, HAKIM had been sleeping a lot. He was only awake or threw a cry whenever he felt hungry or had passed motion. Now, at the age of 4 months old, he has amazingly developed a stranger anxiety yet very playful and friendly towards his mummy and daddy. He feels very comfortably secure and ingenious to us.

Day by day, HAKIM grows and learns very fast. Watching him growing up and acquiring a new  skill from time to time is another exciting episode. At this point, I am already blended with his temperament and anticipating well as to all his needs.

Diaper dream

November 21, 2007

hakimsayang-057.jpg

YESTERDAY  has marked its own history in my LITTLE HAKIM’s world. My very wish to see him in cloth diapers has materialized. What a serenely tranquil piece of mind having had seen my very son in such a way. I could imagine how comfortable he is in his new diapers. Not only new because they were just bought by his loving mummy but its a matter of new ENVIRONMENT that he is going to be in for the rest of his “diaperhood”.

Instantly, I feel relief and proud for having able to provide the best that I could to HAKIM.

Looking back past one month ago, I came to know about this cloth diaper thing from my cousin. Without hesitancy, I surfed the related webs for more details. In actual fact, cloth diapers are already in the market for quite sometime. However, not many people are aware of their presence. So did I.

When I told my hubby about this, as expected  he just gave me a sardonic smile. Nevertheless, I did not feel the slightest loss upon his silently reluctant remark. Well…I believe true moms know best what their children need. And I did not care whether or not my hubby is supportive in this matter, I decided to have them as soon as possible.

TODAY is the second day HAKIM in his cloth diapers. The most discernable thing that I happily noticed was the smiling eyes of my hubby upon seeing our HAKIM in  his new cover. He finally agreed that fragile HAKIM really deserves to get the best treatment as much as we could give to him. Not only that the fact that we are going to save few thousands from diapers in the next few years already known to him.

At this juncture, I am the happiest mom in the world because my diaper dream has come true!
